The rescuers on the SMURD helicopters trained by the Swiss Air-Rescue REGA specialists, within the Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Programme.

Four years of collaboration, 67 pilots and mission crews trained. In this period, over 8.000 patients were transported by the helicopters of SMURD, day and night. This is the balance in brief of the training programme developed in Romania and Switzerland by the specialists of Swiss Air-Rescue REGA Service, within the Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Programme.

These results have been presented on the occasion of the closing event of the project “Air-Rescue SMURD- REGA project”. The event took place on 16 December 2016,  in the presence of the Ambassador of Switzerland Urs Herren and the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior Raed Arafat. On that occasion a Diploma of Excellence has been handed to Ambassador Herren by the Secretary of State Arafat. The Diploma has been presented to the Swiss Contribution to acknowledge the significant participation to the development of the Romanian emergency helicopter rescue services.
