At the online ceremony SIGN ACT: Urgent Support, which was broadcast live on social media, the goals and significance of ACT project were presented. At the beginning of the ceremony, Sascha Müller, on behalf of the Swiss Government, Jens Engelli, on behalf of the partner organization Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation, and Maja Stojanović from Civic Initiatives wished the awarded organizations success in the realization of their projects.

Sixteen civil society organizations and media presented how they plan to contribute to greater respect for human rights, information to citizens and greater transparency in the work of institutions in relation to better response and mitigation of the consequences of the COVID-19 virus pandemic. In addition to the financial support, the awarded organizations and media will also receive mentoring support, so that they can more effectively represent the voice of the community in which they operate.

Through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) the Government of Switzerland has allocated funds totaling 5.37 million euro for the implementation of the first phase of the project, which is being implemented by the Swiss NGO HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation and the Association of Citizens for Democracy and Civic Education Civic Initiatives.
