CERN representatives recognized the STP Belgrade as a key institution for the development of innovative businesses in Serbia and showed interest for supporting this technology incubator.

The official visit to Serbia was organized by CERN with the aim to analyse whether Serbia meets the requirements for full membership in this organization. Potential membership is of great importance for further development of science and education in Serbia.

The STP Belgrade is currently hosting more than 60 companies that develop high-tech products and services in the areas of IT, smart cities, robotics, med-tech and similar fields. These companies contribute to increase the competitiveness of Serbia in the global market of innovative high-tech products and services and to the economic development of the country.

Switzerland supported the establishment and development of the STP within the project "Science and Technology Park Belgrade – the new export Instrument of Serbia" (2015-2019).  The main aim is to increase the export of high-tech products and services from Serbia and to link the scientific research community of the country with the business sector developing high-tech products which are competitive in export markets. The Government of Switzerland supported the development of the Park with the total amount of EUR 1 million.
