These consultations provided a very good opportunity to shed comprehensive light on the bilateral relations of the two countries and to exchange views on regional and multilateral aspects. Both delegations agreed that the relations between Switzerland and Montenegro are excellent. They are characterized by shared values such as democracy, rule of law, market-based economy and the belief that political differences should be resolved by constant political exchange among all political parties in order to reach common solutions.

The stay of Ambassador Ifkovits Horner in Montenegro provided also an opportunity to meet with representatives of the diplomatic community, including the United Nations (UN), the Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe (OSCE) and the Council of Europe (CoE), who contributed to provide a broader understanding of their respective mandates and the current political and economic situation of Montenegro.
