President Parmelin was officially received by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić at the Palace of Serbia in Belgrade where a formal agreement on a bilateral innovation programme was signed. Together with the Swiss business delegation, President Parmelin later visited Nestlé’s factory in Surčin alongside Serbian Prime Minister Đuro Macut. The visit highlighted the strong economic presence of Switzerland in Serbia, where around 600 Swiss companies are active. President Parmelin also officially launched Switzerland’s new cooperation programme for Serbia for the period 2026–2029, opening a new phase in bilateral cooperation and development partnerships. The programme continued at the Science and Technology Park Belgrade, one of the country’s leading innovation hubs supported by Switzerland. On this occasion, a new cycle of the Swiss-backed Raising Starts programme was announced, and President Parmelin met with several startups that have benefited from Swiss support.
The visit concluded with an exchange with representatives of Swiss companies operating in Serbia with the participation of the Swiss-Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
