Swiss Ambassador presents letter of credence to President of Montenegro and meets Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs in Podgorica

From 2 to 4 February 2021, the Ambassador of Switzerland, Mr. Urs Schmid, visited Montenegro to present his letter of credence to the President, H.E. Milo Đukanović. Ambassador Schmid is now officially accredited as the representative of the Government of Switzerland to Montenegro.

Ambassador Schmid’s visit to Montenegro presented the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister, H.E. Zdravko Krivokapić, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Đorđe Radulović, for bilateral talks.

All representatives of Montenegro emphasized the excellent relationship between Montenegro and Switzerland and expressed their willingness to further deepen the political and economic ties of both countries. The Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs thanked Switzerland for its humanitarian aid during the COVID-19 crisis. Ambassador Urs Schmid encouraged the government of Montenegro to continue on its path toward Euro-Atlantic integration and the accompanying political and economic reforms. He assured the government of Switzerland’s support for these important endeavours and emphasized his eagerness to contribute to intensifying the bilateral relations of both countries during his term.
