Contesto

Despite measurable progress, the anti-corruption process in South Africa is proceeding slowly. Corruption continues to manifest itself in all areas of society, in the public and private sectors, undermining public trust in the government as well as investor confidence. With the help of a more efficient anti-corruption architecture and a stronger focus on prevention, this can be changed. Efficient and transparent public procurement is one essential area in working towards this objective.

South African anti-corruption system in the area of corruption prevention is strenghtened through a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach.

Outputs:

- The technical and institutional capacities of the relevant state actors to prevent corruption have been strengthened

- An effective ethics management system for the public sector has been established

- The conditions for procurement with integrity have been improved

- The technical capacities of civil society actors in the field of anti-corruption have been strengthened

Enhancements to the Procurement Portal hosted at National Treasury to include Bid Evaluation and Bid Adjudication functionality and improved dashboards for analysis of data

Procurement Guides for citizens on how to understand procurement to hold procuring institutions and service providers to account

Publication of the Monitoring and Evaluation concept for the National Anti-Corruption Strategy

Gendered dimensions of corruption placed on the agenda (including gender-responsive public procurement)
