For the first time, a special window on Swiss cinema will be presented at the 2019 Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival which will take place from the 7th to 24th November 2019 at different venues in Taipei. The Festival ranks as the most important film event on the Island and its awards are considered the most prestigious prizes in the Chinese-language cinema. A selection of long and short films from Switzerland including 3 films as part of “A tribute to Bruno Ganz” will be shown at the Festival. Organized in collaboration with SWISS FILMS, the Swiss cinema in focus at the Festival is a cultural project which aims at stimulating exchange of ideas and inspiring creativity.
Besides the above Swiss presence program, a special outdoor screening of “My Life as a Zucchini” (Ma vie de Courgette) by Claude Barras will take place on the 3rd November 2019 at 19:00 pm at Taipei Cinema Park. Also, a “Directors' Talk On Contemporary Swiss Films” will be held on 20th November at 20:30 pm at Vie Show Cinemas Taipei Hsin Yi with the attendance of 3 Swiss directors: Nicole Vögele - “Closing Time”, Delphine Lehericey – “Beyond the Horizon” (Le milieu de l’ horizon) and Stéphane Riethauser – “Madame”.
