Imagine your life without a bank account, without cash machine, without wiring money, without savings accounts, no credit cards, no ec-cards, just cash. This is still reality for more than 2 billion persons, especially in developing countries. Inclusive Finance wants to change this.
SDC’s Employment and Income network is regularly organizing events on different aspects of inclusive finance, addressing the community of persons and organizations interested. The next event on Postal Financial Inclusion will take place on November 4th in Berne. It is organized in collaboration with the Universal Postal Union (UPU).
The forum will start with an overview of postal financial inclusion followed by two case study presentations by the two main postal financial inclusion models: postal banking model as presented by the Al Barid Bank in Morocco, and corresponding banking model as mastered by the Brazilian Post. The Forum will also include a presentation of the Al Barid Bank piloting mobile banking services and an innovative new mini branch networking expansion programme with support from the Swiss Capacity Building Facility (scbf.ch).
