Round table discussion

In conjunction with the Francophonie festival and in collaboration with the Embassy of Switzerland, the exhibition “Sustainable Architecture: Time is Now – How Francophone talents are shaping Singapore” opened on 11 March at the Alliance française.

The official opening was preceded by a round table moderated by Carrie Nooten (journalist Radio France, RFI, France24TV). Architects  Manuel der Hagopian, Partner & Co-founder of group8asia, Yann Follain, WY-TO founding partner, Stéphane Lasserre, Design Principal at B+H Architects (Singapore), and Eng-Kiat Tan, Surbana Urban Planning & Design not only spoke about their sustainable buildings featured in the exhibition. The architects also discussed broader topics such as the challenges in creating green buildings in a tropical climate, what are the rules to regulate sustainability in Singapore and, looking towards the future, how will Singapore look like in 2050?

To continue the debate, the guests enjoyed the opportunity to exchange ideas during a networking cocktail hosted by Alliance française at their gallery space.
