Farewell to the Baldegg Sisters

On 26 March, the Embassy of Switzerland organised a tree-planting event to pay tribute to three Baldegg sisters for their work and life commitment to the most vulnerable people in Tanzania. The three sisters, Sr. Winfrieda, Sr.Josephata and Sr. Stefanie, have returned to Switzerland after more than 50 years of service. The orange trees, planted in the Embassy’s gardens, will remain a living memory of their presence in Tanzania.

State Secretary Martina Hirayama on scientific mission to Kenya and Tanzania

Switzerland launches Fund for MSMEs

The Embassy of Switzerland launched the Daraja Impact Fund as part of its Innovation for Social Change project. Switzerland will contribute CHF 10 million (TZS 26.4 billion) over a period of five years to support the growth of small and medium-sized, and impact-driven enterprises to improve livelihoods of Tanzanians, particularly youth and women. The Daraja Impact Fund will be implemented and managed by Small Enterprise Assistance Funds (SEAF) in partnership with AlphaMundi Foundation (AMF).

The Geneva Conventions at 75

Embassy celebrates successful completion of the OYE project

With support from the Swiss and Danish Embassies, SNV Tanzania implemented the second phase of the Opportunities for Youth Employment (OYE) project in Singida and Morogoro Regions between 2021 and 2024.
