Tanzania Media Fund (TMF)

Progetto concluso

The main strategy of TMF is to contribute to the improvement of the media landscape in Tanzania through grant making and capacity building activities that will lead to structural changes in the media sector and an increased public perception on the role of media in domestic accountability. Ultimately, if citizens and civil society have access to more (and) reliable information, provided by independent and critical media, they will demand (more) accountability of the state. The state will respond to the pressure and become more accountable to its citizens. Support to media is an important pillar of SDC’s strategy in Tanzania and the TMF strategy contributes to SDC’s goal to improved accountability through independent and professional media.
