The E4E program is to provide Arab Youth in the client countries in the Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) with skills that are relevant to the marketplace, so that Arab Youth can earn a better future. The program is implemented by the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Contexte

The MENA region is affected by a rising level of youth unemployment that is among the highest rates in the world. Given the region?s demographic outlook, this challenge is very likely to intensify, adding further pressure on the labour markets over the coming years.

Objectifs

By creating an enabling business environment for private education providers, the E4E program will improve the employment prospects for young graduates across the MENA region. The aim of the E4E program is to provide Arab Youth with skills that are relevant to the marketplace so that they can earn a better future.

Effets à moyen terme

Improve the regulatory environment for private education providers.

Increase the supply of and access to quality post-secondary education.

Reduce the skills mismatch, i.e. the discrepancy between the qualifications possessed by graduates and those in demand by the private sector.

Résultats

Principaux résultats attendus:  

Remove regulatory barriers.

Strengthen quality assurance and accreditation frameworks.

Enable private players to enter the tertiary education market.

Increase competition within the market for tertiary education.
