| Contexte |
The public health care system of Ukraine is inefficient and of low quality. It focuses on hospitals and specialized facilities with overcapacities while neglecting primary and preventive health care. Different policy papers promoting preventive and family health have been drafted or are in preparation, but for the time being all this is in statu nascendi and remains at the level of intentions. Health Promotion and Communication (HPC) remains an almost unexplored area, in Reproductive, Maternal and Child Health (R-MCH) and in the entire healthsector. |
| Objectifs |
The reproductive health and mother and child health of the Ukrainian population is improved through the adoption of healthier behaviours and better child care. |

Principaux résultats antérieurs: The information obtained through various assessments, surveys and an institutional analysis from 5 Ukrainian regions has provided demographic and reproductive health related data as well as an overview on the institutional context for HPC. It helped to identify key needs in HPC related to R-MCH which will be addressed by the Project Main Phase, and to establish a baseline for measuring the impact of the Project. |
