Born more than 100 years ago, animation movies have increasingly become an important genre in modern cinema, enabling people to expand their imagination, while tackling imperative subjects through a poetic and sensitive lens. While the genre has seduced the world across generations, the public is rarely aware of the technics of production enabling the magic to happen.
To demystify animation movies, in collaboration with the Cinema Space, the Swiss Embassy in the UAE has invited Elie Chapuis for an interactive keynote on Animation tacking place in Manarat Saadiyat. The Swiss animation expert has been working on movies such as “Fantastic Mr Fox” by Wes Anderson, the Swiss award-nominated film “My Life as a Zucchini”, and more recently “Isle of Dogs”, Wes Anderson’s much expected latest stop motion feature. The interactive keynote will succeed to the projection of the Oscar nominated movie by Claude Barras, “My life as a Zucchini”.
Organized in the framework of World Skills, the biggest international vocational education competition held every two years, the event will also represent a great occasion for the audience to better understand the educational background of an animation expert, as well as observe from closer how to manipulate animation characters.
