Overall goal is to enjoy food security in rural communities in dry areas from Masvingo & Manicaland Provinces by 2020, enhancing livelihoods, income and nutrition of rural households. Outcome: (1) Enabling environment is in place to allow increased productivity and income for the smallholders in terms of water, energy, legal, fiscal, land tenure framework etc.(institutional and environmental (framework conditions) Indicator: Number of people ready to invest their time in rehabilitation. (2) Target groups manage irrigation systems in a sustainable way, utilize inputs (adapted seeds in particular) and apply recommended technical advice on agriculture, nutrition and HIV/AIDS to improve livelihood and income. Indicator: Reduction of proportion of beneficiary households failing to meet food requirements from own production. (3) Agricultural productivity is improved, conditions are established to allow smallholders to produce for the market, and linkages to the markets are promoted: Indicator: Economic status of targeted population increased by 20% in 10 year time.
