Swiss Import Promotion Programme SIPPO 2017-2021

Projekt abgeschlossen

The SIPPO Program 2017-21 will follow a strong development agenda. The "strategic sourcing" of goods and services coming from developing countries will be the "mirror effect" of the products and services offered. The Program will further develop its "Last Mile" competences and integrating SIPPO’s "Last Mile" expertise into SECO’s trade development value chain programs.

Hintergrund

SECO has been financing the Swiss Import Promotion Program (SIPPO) since 1999. The program helps selected exporting enterprises from developing and transition countries access Swiss and European markets, providing a unique "Last Mile" (market linkage) expertise with the organization of sourcing/buyer missions, trade fair presence, and Business Support Organizations (BSO) development. The end of project evaluation concluded in 2015 that the SIPPO Program is relevant, produces good results at SME level, however with limited scale, and is efficient for buyer missions, B2B encounters and trade shows.

Ziele

The SIPPO 2017-21 Program has a duration of four years, will start in Q1/2017 and comprises 2 outcomes. The overall objective of SIPPO 2017-21 is: "Developing countries’ BSOs, and Swiss Trade related development assistance programs add to sustainable and inclusive economic growth and to the integration of developing countries into world trade. As a mirror effect, Swiss/EU importing companies increase their imports from selected countries."

Outcome 2: Major existing and new SECO trade related value chain projects in the target countries are scaled up, reach more tangible results and superior effects in terms of exports.
