| Hintergrund | Yemen faces a deepening multidimensional crisis marked by conflict, displacement, unemployment, economic decline, and escalating climate pressures. Humanitarian funding has sharply declined (19% of the HRP funded as of July 2026), underscoring the urgent need for measures to foster resilience and sustainable livelihoods. Women continue to face growing economic exclusion and barriers to participation while assuming increasing economic responsibility due to the conflict. In Taiz, where food insecurity, water scarcity, and climate shocks intersect, there are opportunities and a readiness and interest of the local population and the local government to engage in climate smart agriculture and agribusiness. |
| Ziele | Rural communities in Taiz governorate benefit from more resilient agri-food systems, and stronger climatic and economic sustainability. |
| Zielgruppen |
• 7’380 direct beneficiaries with a minimum of 50% women (22’393 overall consortium programme): farmers, herders and women and men involved in food production and agribusiness from three selected areas in Taiz governorate. • Estimated 245’600 indirect SDC beneficiaries (350’599 overall consortium programme), including villages from the selected areas, local government and institutional actors; private sector and financial institutions. |
| Mittelfristige Wirkungen |
• (Outcome 1 financed by EU only) • Outcome 2: Farmers and herders improve their productivity, food security, and climate resilience through the adoption of agroecological practices, strengthened production systems, and improved access to natural resources and services. • Outcome 3: Agri-food and green economy value chains become more competitive, inclusive, and climate-resilient, with increased value addition, market integration, and access to finance, technologies, skills, and employment opportunities for women and youth. |
