Promoting Market Oriented Skills Training in the Great Lakes region (PROMOST) : phase 2

PROMOST is a program promoting Market Oriented Skills Training in the Great Lakes region by improving the access to quality and market-relevant vocational training. In a first phase, the program improved access and quality of formal and informal vocational training in Rwanda. The second phase will consolidate results in Rwanda, develop alternative vocational training options in Burundi and South Kivu, and further regional networking on TVET.

Allocation of SDC Funding to UNHCR Operations in 2016

SDC funding to UNHCR operations allows the UN Refugee Agency to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance to refugees and internally displaced people in life-threatening situations and underfunded emergencies.

Les violences sexuelles et basées sur le genre sont une réalité pour des milliers de femmes, de jeunes filles et de garçons. La première phase du Programme psychosocial confirme que l’approche de Prise en Charge Intégrée (aspects juridiques, médicaux et psychologiques) et l’approche psychosociale communautaire sont pertinents pour réagir aux problématiques multiples liées aux traumas

Hand-washing campaigns: Hand-washing in Zimbabwe

Diarrhea remains a common cause of death in Sub-Saharan Africa and is the second most common cause of infant deaths worldwide. Hand washing is known to be one of the most effective and cost-efficient tools to reduce the disease. The objective of this second phase is to promote awareness and positively influence hand-washing with soap at critical times among target groups, children and caretakers, in urban Zimbabwe. The campaign will make use of new technologies and will test a newly developed mobile app in behavioral change education.
