Rural Water Supply and Sanitation in the Ferghana Valley

En 2001, la DDC débuta un Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project en Ouzbékistan. Il a été évalué positivement en 2003, donnant lieu à deux nouvelles phases en Ouzbékistan (2003-2007). Début 2007, une évaluation externe a permis de valider la pertinence et l’impact du projet et d’ajuster les objectifs du nouveau projet régional "Water Supply and Sanitation" en Ouzbékistan et au Tadjikistan (début de la phase principale en juillet 2007). Les principaux ajustements visent à améliorer l’environnement permettant la réplication et l’expansion de cette approche.

Uzbekistan: Rural Enterprise Support Project (RESPII) - Ph. I

Agriculture is one of the major components of the economy of Uzbekistan. Approximately 64 percent of the country’s population lives in rural areas. Around 32 percent of the labor force is directly employed in agriculture. In addition, the agricultural sector has a direct impact on and relationship with many other areas of the economy generating 70 percent of domestic trade and servicing 90 percent of the domestic demand for agricultural products.

Urban Development in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan

The project provides technical assistance to the governments of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to strengthen sustainable and resilient urban development. The World Bank will implement all activities.

Karakalpakstan and Khorezm Water Supply and Sanitation Project

The Karakalpakstan and Khorezm Water Supply and Sanitation Project provides investment in water supply and sanitation infrastructure in these two regions of Uzbekistan and capacity building to their Regional Water Companies (RWCs). This is the first Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) project co-financed by SECO.

Digital Financial Services Programme in Europe and Central Asia, Phase II

The Digital Financial Services Programme, Phase II, supports responsible access to digital financial services in Central Asia, South Caucasus and the Western Balkans by improving underlying regulations, digital infrastructure and private sector’s capacities.

IFC Sustainable Cities, Phase II

This is the second phase of SECO’s successful partnership with IFC to promote Private Sector Engagement in infrastructure. It incorporates a series of learnings from the previous phase, e.g. extending instruments with the aim to increase mobilization of commercial financing or including public-private partnership (PPP) advisory in all regions.

Central Asia Water & Energy Programme (CAWEP4)

CAWEP4 is a multi-donor trust fund managed by the World Bank which addresses regional, integrated water-energy management and climate change in Central Asia through technical assistance and high-level policy dialogue. Swiss accompanying measures for hydropower allow the mobilisation of relevant Swiss expertise.

Small Business Impact Fund, Phase II

The Small Business Impact Fund (SBIF) is a multi-donor initiative of the EBRD to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs). SECO’s contribution to the SBIF aims to strengthen competitiveness and resilience of SMEs in Central Asia, Western Balkans, North Africa and South Caucasus by providing business advice, skills development and financing.

Trade Promotion East

The Trade Promotion East Program aims to enhance competitiveness and sustainable export growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) engaged in agro-processing from SECO’s Eastern partner countries. The Program will be implemented by the International Trade Centre in the Western Balkans and Central Asia.

Global Financial Infrastructure Programme, Phase II

The Global Financial Infrastructure Programme fosters financial inclusion of individuals and responsible access to finance for SMEs through financial infrastructure reforms in SECO and SDC partner countries. It focuses on strengthening credit information systems, secured transaction reforms, as well as insolvency and debt resolution.
