Nargis reconstruction storm shelters

The access to formal education in the Cyclone Nargis affected Delta of Myanmar is improved through the provision of permanent School/Storm Shelters emphasizing on primary education and a “safe heaven” for communities in case of natural disasters. Outcomes: (1) Improved access to formal education is established and education services are provided in the reconstructed buildings. School attendance has increased. (2) Where a school is rebuilt the community has access to a safe storm shelter in case of disaster. School communities are knowledgeable in disaster preparedness and response.

Urban Planning and Infrastructure in Migration Contexts

01.01.2021 - 30.06.2025

This Project aims at improving access to reliable services and socio-economic opportunities for migrants in urban settlements of supported cities in Myanmar, Egypt, Jordan and Cameroon. It will do so by developing inclusive urban development plans and link necessary economic infrastructure investments to financing in those settlements.


UN Trade Cluster Myanmar

01.05.2018 - 31.08.2023

The UN Trade Cluster country project Myanmar will be implemented in Shan State (Inle Lake area) by UNCTAD, ILO, UNIDO and ITC. The project provides for two outcomes in the area of horticulture supply and sustainable tourism development, while preparing the necessary conditions for selected value chains linking both sectors (backward linkages).


Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises SCORE, Phase III

SCORE is one of SECO's flagship programmes to foster more & better jobs in small and medium enterprises (SME) in partner countries. SCORE provides on-the-job training for workers and managers to improve productivity and working conditions in SMEs and help them to participate in global supply chains. SCORE is a joint programme with Norway and ILO.


Regional Biotrade Project Southeast Asia

The "Regional Biotrade Project Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Lao PDR, and Myanmar)" proposes to tackle the opportunities and challenges in the three countries of the Indo-Burma biodiversity hotspot by following a country specific market demand oriented approach, along Biotrade value-chains following the ethical Biotrade principles.


Child Protection in Tourism, Phase III

This project will contribute to improving quality and competitiveness in travel and tourism, an economic sector providing significant economic and employment benefits in developing countries. By strengthening a voluntary sustainability standard, the proposed project will support institutional expansion and infrastructure development for TheCode.org, in order to prevent and combat sexual exploitation of children in tourism and to improve the tourism sector's sustainability and competitiveness.


Regional Retail Banking and Payment Systems Program in Asia

The overall goal of the East Asia Retail Banking Payments Program is to improve access to secure, efficient and cost-effective non-cash payment services in at least four of the following countries in East Asia: Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam.
