Die Aktivitäten im Gesundheitsbereich der DEZA

Die DEZA konzentriert ihre Aktivitäten im Gesundheitsbereich auf die folgenden drei Bereiche: Stärkung der Gesundheitssysteme, Bekämpfung von übertragbaren und nichtübertragbaren Krankheiten sowie Verbesserung der sexuellen und reproduktiven Gesundheit und der Gesundheitsversorgung von Müttern, Neugeborenen und Kindern. Die DEZA engagiert sich in Ländern mit niedrigem und mittlerem Einkommen, in stabilen oder fragilen Kontexten sowie in Transitionsländern.

Stärkung der Gesundheitssysteme

Grosse Herausforderungen sind dabei insbesondere; der Mangel an Gesundheitspersonal, Finanzierung, gute Regierungsführung und Management, die Verfügbarkeit und Qualität von angemessener Infrastruktur, Technologie und medizinischen Produkten

Sexuelle und reproduktive Gesundheit

Verbesserung der Gesundheit von Müttern, Neugeborenen und Kindern sowie Förderung der sexuellen und reproduktiven Gesundheit und Rechte.

Krankheiten

Förderung einer gesunden Lebensweise ausgehend von einem gemeinschaftlichen Ansatz für nichtübertragbare Krankheiten; finanzielle Unterstützung für Prävention, Behandlung und Forschung im Bereich neuer Medikamente und Diagnoseinstrumente für übertragbare Krankheiten: HIV/Aids, Malaria, Tuberkulose, Durchfall sowie akute Infektionen der Atemwege und vernachlässigte tropische Krankheiten.

Potable Water Management Programme (PWMP) in Upper Egypt – Phase 1

Egypt is a water scarce country and has critical needs in better managing water resources and reducing water losses as well as water consumption. Switzerland can share its know-how in the water sector. This programme contributes to equitable access to safely managed water to deprived and informal settlement areas in the economically disadvantaged governorate of Aswan in Upper Egypt and to improved potable water management and service provision in Aswan Water & Sanitation Company (AWSC).




Community Health Provision in Somalia

This intervention contributes to improve access of the Somali population to quality, affordable and equitable health services in South Central Somalia and Puntland. In a context of still very low health services coverage, high level of vulnerabilities and protracted conflict, this intervention will ensure the delivery of essential primarily health care services, focusing on women and children, while at the same time contributing to progressively build the health system at both district and regional levels.



Emergency support to IRC integrating GBV services, Protection and Health for conflict-affected communities in Rakhine State, Myanmar

01.06.2017 - 31.03.2018

This project will allow IRC to provide protection, GBV and health services to respond to identified urgent needs of conflict-affected communities in Rathedaung in Rakhine State, Myanmar, through a 7 months integrated protection, Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and health response. Both, Muslim and Rakhine communities will benefit from the outcomes of this project.



KENYA - Strengthening Livestock Sector in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) Counties

Around 60% of the population of Northern/Eastern Kenya counties are poor. They depend on livestock production in an environment of recurrent droughts and resource-based conflicts. This program will support local entities to better support pastoralist communities in livestock production and to advocate for their consideration in national strategies and policies. This will contribute to the reduction of their socio-economic marginalisation and thus to the region’s stability, which is in the Swiss and international community’s interest.


Lugano Summer School

The Lugano Summer School in Public Health Policy, Economics and Management is an international hub for post-graduate short-term training and learning in public health bringing together practitioners and academics from around the world. Its innovative and interactive methods for teaching and exchanging enhance health professionals’ capacities to manage, develop and promote health services and systems and to contribute to achieving the SDG3.


Supporting the Medical Education Reform in Ukraine

A profound health reform is underway in Ukraine. The currently ill-prepared medical education system is a fundamental component of it. Training curricula are outdated and teaching staff lack essentials skills, capacities and motivation. This project supports the reform of the medical education system for family doctors and nurses, and the strengthening of competencies of healthcare managers. As a result, significant quality improvements of health care delivered to the population are expected.


Medical Education Reforms in Kyrgyzstan

Although health sector reforms have prioritised family medicine, the medical education system continues to prepare narrow specialists, leading to a shortage of family doctors mainly in rural areas. The Ministry of Health initiated the medical education reforms with focus on family doctors specialty at pregraduate level and compulsory postgraduate clinical practice in the regions. Phase II of the project will finalize the medical education reform implementation process with focus on postgraduate and continuous medical education.


Emergency response to address malnutrition through improved nutrition, mental health and care practices in Maungdaw District, Rakhine State

01.05.2017 - 31.05.2018

The violence that took place on October 9 2016, and the ensuing insecurity across Northern Rakhine State (NRS), resulted in the suspension of humanitarian services in the area. Many of the affected people missed out on their seasonal food assistance, school feeding and regular nutrition support for at least three months, resulting in a significant negative impact on the food security, health and nutritional status, and mental health of vulnerable families. With this emergency response, Action Contre la Faim (ACF) will address increased malnutrition through an integrated program, which aims to reduce child and Pregnant and Lactating Women (PLW) undernutrition, mortality and morbidity.
