Increasing the efficiency of assets recovery and management

Project completed

The project aims to improve the capacities of Romanian authorities in asset recovery and management of proceeds of crime. To achieve this objective, a centralized database will be set up to track all assets and a comparative study on EU and international best practices on the management system of the confiscated assets will be elaborated.

Activities

In the first component, the project will produce a comparative study on EU and international best practices on the management system of the confiscated assets with recommendations for the Romanian authorities The activities of the second component are built around the development of a database and the procurement of the necessary equipment to make use of this database to the target group of the project.

Achieved results:  

  • Due to 2 failed procurement procedures the project could not be fully implemented. Details will follow shortly.
