2025 Additional Allocation to UNHCR Operations in Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan
SDC funding to UNHCR operations allows the UN Refugee Agency to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance to refugees and internally displaced people in life-threatening situations and underfunded emergencies. Switzerland provides an additional contribution of CHF 5’000’000 in 2025 to support UNHCR operations in Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan.

| Background | Syria is one of the most significant migration crises, with 7.4 million internally displaced Syrians and approximately 6 million refugees in neighboring countries, including 1.4 million in Lebanon and 1.3 million in Jordan. The UNHCR coordinates the regional response to the Syrian refugee crisis (3RP) and plays an active role in protecting refugees and IDPs in Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. |
