WFP Regional Bureau Johannesburg, Secondment Emergency Preparedness and Response Officer
This project aims at strengthening WFP’s emergency preparedness and response capacity. Over the past years, the Regional Bureau for East, Central and Southern Africa (OMJ) has made significant progress in the enhancement of its methods, approaches, and capacities. This process is supported by the Emergency Preparedness branch (OMEP) at Rome HQ. Activities at the regional and corporate levels have been ongoing to enhance the effectiveness and responsiveness of WFP operations in emergency preparedness, by providing strategic and normative guidance, technical and capacity building support to field offices, as well as by supporting and coordinating related processes at the inter-agency level and with partners, and facilitating the sharing of related knowledge and information within the organization.
