A comprehensive new set of three documents on the Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P ) approach is now available. They intend to consolidate existing implementation experience and improve the understanding and uptake of market development approaches to achieve employment and income for the poor. The three documents, commissioned by the UK Department for International Development and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, are aimed at agency and government officials, consultants, researchers and practitioners.

Rapid and unhindered access for humanitarian organisations to civilians in armed conflict zones is essential. However, it is often impeded or refused. In two publications Switzerland advocates improvements in this area: The Manual provides a summary of the relevant rules of international law; the Guidelines are designed for humanitarian practitioners concerned with the question of access.
