| Background |
Taking existing experiences into account, this platform should make new concrete renewable energy and/or energy efficiency projects possible, with increasing participation of Swiss companies and organisations. For this purpose, REPIC will build up a network of information and awareness among interested parties, facilitate the exchange of experience between different stakeholders and promote the knowledge of local conditions and project opportunities. |
| Objectives |
The REPIC Platform contributes to the implementation of global climate protection agreements and to a sustainable energy supply in developing and transition countries, as well as in Switzerland, and represents an important part in the implementation of the Swiss policy for sustainable development on the international level. The REPIC Platform thereby represents an important contribution to the creation of a coherent policy and strategy in Switzerland, for the promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency in international cooperation. |
| Medium-term outcomes |
Project promotion / implementation and knowledge transfer: successful implementation and replication of concrete projects. Networks, Information, communication and coordination: successful information and communication as well as national and international partnerships and networking contacts. Coordination between the involved federal agencies. REPIC as a one-stop shop for external requests. |
| Results |
Expected results: Successfull implementation of 50 projects. Increased knowledge sharing and networking between the involved agencies. One-stop-shop for external requests. Prompt efficient treatment of project proposals by the Secretariat REPIC. Results from previous phases: The REPIC Platform?s first phase ran from 2004 to 2007. During the REPIC Platform?s second phase, from 2007 to 2010, the platform was broadened to include energy efficiency along with renewable energies. Following the second phase?s conclusion at the end of 2010, the four Swiss Federal Offices granted a 3 year extension, for a third phase, until year end 2013. Based on the experience gained during phases I and II, the third phase gave more weight to implementation relevance, as well as multiplying project promotion and realization. |
