Filmmakers and artists at large contribute to the reflection of relevant issues shaping the future of our society. The fund Visions Sud Est supports film production in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. It is a partnership between SDC, major film festivals and a film distributor in Switzerland. Vision Sud Est is a contribution for filmmakers to bring in their voice and for ensuring the diversity of artistic expression in Switzerland and internationally.

| Background |
Engaging in the support of an independent art scene also means engaging in strengthening freedom of expression and social debate. Film is an interesting vehicle and form of art but at the same time complicated in the production and distribution. SDC engages in supporting art and culture as contribution to the implementation of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions 2005. This includes the support for international mobility of artists and the participation of artists from the South and East in international art and culture. |
| Objectives | The overall goal is to contribute to the strengthening and development of an independent local and regional filmproduction in Latin America, Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe (without EU). |
| Target groups |
|
| Medium-term outcomes | Filmmakers will be able to produce their films, also by finding additional funding being able to show an international support through VSE. They will gain visibility, attention and additional partnerships and opportunities. Experience shows that many will participate in competitions and win prizes as well. |
| Results |

Results from previous phases: 48 Filmprojects have been supported coming from 30 countries.
