Facilitating the Protection of Syrian Refugees in Istanbul Phase II

The Istanbul megalopolitan environment exposes the 429'000 Syrian refugees living there to multiple social and protection risks. Government relies on NGOs to help provide for protection and integration. In 2015 the national NGO "Support-to-Life" set up a community center in Küçükcekmece, the most populous city district. It offers refugees a space for activities, training, social support, and provides linages to local community state services. As phase I ends, a bridge phase II (4 months) will allow STL to integrate lessons learned, adapt the concept to the evolving context, thus ensuring the center's sustainability.
