Principaux résultats attendus:  

• Informing World Bank water sector investments with 400 million beneficiaries by 2030, potentially to be expanded to 1 billion beneficiaries through the new multistakeholder initiative Water Forward.
• Knowledge Leadership. Generate and disseminate cuttingedge analytics to shape global and country-level water agendas. 
• Institutional Strengthening. Support client governments in achieving water-related SDGs through policy and regulatory reforms, institutional capacity building, and infrastructure investments.
• Acceleration of intergovernmental and transboundary cooperation particularly along common river basins.
• Climate and Resilience. Integrate climate adaptation and mitigation into water projects, including drought/flood risk management and nature-based solutions.
• Gender inclusion. Promote social inclusion and gender equality in water service delivery and governance.
• Financing and Private Sector Engagement. Mobilise public, private, and blended finance in a contribution to closing an estimated USD 1 trillion/year water investment gap.
• Service access. Improve access to safely managed drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene services for millions of people globally.

• Influence on improved water access for 60.14 million people, sanitation for 39.1 million, and risk mitigation for 7.16 million individuals since 2022.
• Influence on USD 48.3 billion in new World Bank lending, with 81% of new water lending incorporating climate cobenefits and 100% including climate indicators, reflecting strong integration of climate considerations.
• Support to 303 activities in 90 countries, including 27 fragile or conflict-affected states, demonstrating the GWSP’s global reach and impact in complex environments.
• Development of strategic water diagnostics and policy reforms, such as the completion of the Togo Strategic Water Diagnostic, which provided a roadmap for government action to improve water sector efficiency and regulation.
• Advancement of social inclusion programmes, broadening from gender to include other marginalised groups, and promoting citizen engagement in water sector governance.
