At the annual conference 2013, the SDC and SECO presented Switzerland’s commitment in fragile contexts. Switzerland supports its partner countries to help them increase their autonomy, security and resilience.There are some 1.5 billion people in the world living in fragile circumstances. They lack basic state services, live in precarious security conditions and cannot count on the protection of their human rights. Development cooperation in such regions is a real challenge.
