Public event

This year the FDFA will once again be organising the International Career Day. On 21 April 2017 various international organisations will present their activities and the career opportunities they provide at the Kulturcasino in Bern. The day is aimed at new graduates and young academics with work experience who are considering a career in an international organisation.

Location: Kulturcasino Bern

Time: 10.00 inaugural speech (registration required), 11.00 – 17.00 career fair

The International Career Day (ICD) was initially created as a means of promoting Switzerland’s presence within international organisations. This will be the 14th edition. Despite its active involvement in international cooperation, Switzerland still remains under-represented in the UN and in other international organisations. The International Career Day is part of the Federal Council's strategy to raise Switzerland’s level of representation in international organisations.

It gives international organisations the opportunity to inform the public about working conditions and career opportunities. A one-day information event, the International Career Day is a unique forum in Switzerland for HR specialists to meet and talk with motivated young academics. The event is mainly targeted at new graduates and young academics with work experience.

For the first time in Bern

2017 is the first time the event will come to Bern. The Kulturcasino is not only centrally located, but also provides a wonderful backdrop. Participation is free of charge. Tickets can be ordered using the form below. If you have any questions regarding the International Career Day, please contact the United Nations and International Organisations Division: pd-aio-praesenz@eda.admin.ch
