The 16th edition of International Career Day (ICD) will take place on Wednesday 11 December 2019. The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) is inviting university graduates and young academics to the Olma Messen in St Gallen to meet representatives of international organisations and learn about their activities, career opportunities and recruitment processes.
International Career Day 2019
The ICD offers young professionals and students at Swiss universities a platform to meet with representatives of international organisations and find out about career opportunities and activities in the multilateral environment. Visitors can get first-hand information about internships, part-time work, career opportunities and admissions from the more than 50 high-profile international organisations from different sectors that are represented at the ICD.
International Geneva in St Gallen
The ICD is now a long-standing tradition which has grown significantly both in terms of participating organisations and visitors since its launch in 2003. It took place in Bern in 2017 and in Basel in 2018. Previous editions were held in Lausanne because of its proximity to International Geneva. This year, the ICD has chosen a city in eastern Switzerland to make International Geneva better known throughout the whole of the country. The University of St Gallen and the nearby universities in Zurich also have a variety of study options beyond the humanities, which means that a broad range of visitors to the ICD will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from the field of international cooperation.
The event will start with an official welcome at 10.30am (doors open at 10am) and end at 5pm. Participation is free of charge. For further information, please email the United Nations and International Organisations Division of the FDFA at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
