Bern, Press releases, 17.11.2014

Do you know your way around the UN head office in New York? If not, the new Swiss app will be useful. It provides information not only about the UN member states and official documentation, but also about meeting rooms and other things such as how to get an entry badge. The app is based on the PGA Handbook that Switzerland published in 2011 when former Federal Councillor Joseph Deiss was president of the UN General Assembly.

The app is a practical guide to the everyday workings of the UN and especially for the General Assembly. It offers a quick and easy way to find the information, regardless of where you are and the time. It explains step by step how to prepare a resolution, where the individual missions to the UN are located, and how to contact them.

Switzerland has financed three apps for the UN for: easy access to UN resolutions (UN sanctions app), the Handbook on Women, Peace and Security, and women's rights. The PGA app can be downloaded free of charge for iOS, Android and Windows.
