Switzerland and Barbados have signed agreements in areas such as double taxation, investment protection, the transfer of sentenced persons, air traffic and lifting mutual visa requirements. The Swiss embassy in Caracas, Venezuela, represents Switzerland's interests in Barbados.
In 2017 Switzerland imported goods worth CHF 27.5 million and exported goods amounting to CHF 70.1 million – mainly watches, jewellery and agricultural products.

History of bilateral relations
Switzerland and Barbados commenced diplomatic relations in 1980. Switzerland opened an honorary consulate on the island in 1993.
