Strenghtening the Capacity of the Romanian Gendarmerie

The Romanian Gendarmerie will acquire Swiss and EU-knowledge as well as equipment to be better prepared to manage public order during large events. It will also be able to improve public safety in mountain areas where national and international tourism is an important feature. The project is part of the thematic fund security in Romania.   • Operational and logistical capacities enhanced: Vehicles and equipment procured procured in order to enforce the response capacity of the Romanian Gendarmerie in the mountain areas
  • Comparative study on crowd control and policing sport events completed
  • International workshop on the European legislative framework in policing major public and sporting events
  • Good practices in public order management trained
  • Prevention of environmental crime strenghtened
