Important Information

The Representative Office of Switzerland in Ramallah is monitoring the situation in the region very closely. The development of the situation is highly uncertain and a significant deterioration in the security situation is possible at any time. Please follow the FDFA’s travel advice, inform yourself about the current situation and follow the instructions of the local authorities.

We advise against travel to the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem.

The security recommendations of the FDFA must be respected. Swiss nationals who remain in or travel to the Occupied Palestinian Territory in violation of the Confederation's recommendations, in particular the FDFA's travel advice and individual recommendations, are negligent and should be aware that if the security situation continues to deteriorate, Switzerland may be able to provide only limited services, if any, and only limited emergency assistance.

The FDFA does not organise the departure of Swiss nationals. The decision to leave a region in crisis is taken voluntarily, at the risk and expense of the person leaving the country. The airlines provide information on flight connections, which can be rapidly reduced if the situation worsens.

The airlines provide information on this subject. Swiss nationals wishing to leave the country are therefore advised to contact the airlines and tour operators for information on departure options.

To ensure communication, it is important that you keep your contact and travel details up to date on the Travel Admin App or with the Swiss representation where you are registered. In case of emergency, you can contact the FDFA Helpline: Tel +41 800 24 7 365 or 0 800 24 7 365.
