Independent experts had a close look at Swiss cooperation projects in the field of employment around the world to find out how effectively these interventions improved employment and income generation. Almost 85 per cent of interventions received effectiveness scores in the range of "very good" to "satisfactory".

10 years of contribution to the enlarged EU: efforts pay off

The 10-year implementation period for Switzerland’s enlargement contribution to the 10 central and eastern European countries that joined the EU in 2004 came to an end on 14 June 2017. Under the contribution, Parliament approved a total of CHF 1 billion to implement 210 projects which have helped reduce economic and social disparities among broad sections of the population living in the EU.

Switzerland Promotes Sustainable Farming Practices in the Strumica River Basin

The Strumica river is the lifeblood of the south-eastern Macedonia, providing the fertile alluvial soil that has made the river basin the most productive agricultural area in the country: some 200,000 tons of tomatoes, peppers, watermelons, cabbages, cucumbers and other vegetables are produced here per year.
