Prespa Lake project as a global success story

The Restoration of the Prespa Lake Ecosystem project achieved impressive results in reducing the pressures on the local ecosystem and improving the lake’s ecological state and resilience. Based on these achievements, the project was selected by UNDP to illustrate best practices to reach the 15th Sustainable Development Goal ‘Life on Land’ in one of its new publications about the significance of public service.


Swiss and Macedonian archaeologists apply new research methods in Ohrid

Swiss archaeologists, along with their Macedonian colleagues, applied for the first time new research methods in their study of a prehistoric pile dwelling site in Ohrid. The pilot project between the University of Bern, the Center for Prehistoric Research in Skopje and the Museum of Ohrid, resulted in a novel understanding of this unique archeological site.

The event brought together Swiss and friends of Switzerland in Macedonia to celebrate the shared values of democracy, independence, peace and diversity, as well as the long-lasting partnership between the two countries. Over 200 guests were treated to Swiss authentic yodeling performance, Swiss Raclette and Swiss wines.

Through its Increasing Market Employability project, Switzerland supports the Hospitality: Training Centre Akademik in their mission to bring Swiss hospitality standards to Macedonia.
