New Ambassador of Switzerland to Macedonia

The new Ambassador of Switzerland to the Republic of Macedonia Ms. Sybille Suter Tejada presented her credentials to the President of the Republic of Macedonia Mr. Gjorgje Ivanov.

During the official ceremony held on 20th March 2016, Ms. Suter Tejada stated that the good cooperation between Switzerland and Macedonia lasts over 20 years. The Swiss Cooperation strategy is the basis for the cooperation. Switzerland will continue the cooperation with Macedonia in the forthcoming years, with approximately CHF 71 million for the period 2017-2020.

“Today Switzerland is the biggest bilateral donor, in Macedonia” - stated Ambassador Suter Tejada. “Our development programme is focused on democratic governance and decentralization, economic development and water. It is designed to support the priorities of the Macedonian Government and the country’s integration in the European Union” - she added.

President Ivanov expressed his gratitude for the continuous support that the Swiss Confederation provides to the Republic of Macedonia. “Thanks to the development support of the Swiss Government that lasts for years, a number of projects in different areas have been implemented, which contributed to better functioning of certain institutions and raising the quality of life of the citizens in different regions”- stated President Ivanov.
