The Swiss Cooperation programme in Macedonia focuses on large, long-term projects in the areas of Democratic Governance, Employment and Economic Development, and Infrastructure and Environment. However, it recognizes the importance of culture to promote diversity, dialogue and debate in the Macedonian society. To be able to support cultural projects in a non-bureaucratic way, the Embassy of Switzerland in Macedonia has decided to launch for the first time a Call for proposals for cultural projects. The Selected projects will receive grants. Through such grants, the Embassy aims to support innovative cultural events and the strengthening of organisations from the independent cultural scene in Macedonia. Going forward, it is foreseen to launch such calls up to twice a year over the next two years. Each organisation can receive a grant for a cultural project only once during the period July 2017-June 2019.
