Im Dezember 2010 wurden die letzten der insgesamt 110 Schulbusse nach Lettland ausgeliefert, die aus Mitteln des lettisch-schweizerischen Zusammenarbeitsprogramms finanziert werden. Die Busse ermöglichen es, in ländlichen, benachteiligten Gebieten ein gut funktionierendes Schultransportsystem zu organisieren.

In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises. SDC funding to WFP operations allows the World Food Programme (WFP) to respond proactively and to provide immediate food assistance in life-threatening situations and underfunded emergencies.

The number and complexity of court proceedings in Latvia is increasing while courts are not equipped with the necessary new technologies to meet adequately the demands placed on them. The Project aims to improve the capacity and the quality of the judiciary. New communication technologies (audio, video conference, internet) and more efficient court procedures will contribute to reaching this goal.
