Migration Dynamics in Secondary Cities

Most migrants nowadays live in cities, and their socio-economic inclusion and protection are central for sustainable development. The programme supports cities to plan for and create inclusive, prosperous, and resilient communities. It gives city actors a voice in regional and global debates on migration, and is powered by the continued, strategic collaboration with the Mayors Migration Council and Cities Alliance, linked with longstanding Swiss expertise and rooted in SDC's priorities.


EGY, Potable Water Management Programme Phase 3 - Exit Phase

The water and wastewater sector in Egypt is continues to face challenges due to underinvestment, limited governance and inefficiency. Switzerland supports the Aswan Water and Wastewater Company (AWSC) since 8 years through a combination of technical assistance, infrastructure, and awareness raising measures which have significantly improved water and wastewater provision in Aswan. The purpose of this Exit Phase is to further institutionalize the business processes previously introduced to the AWSC to ensure the quality and sustainability of water service provision.


Education for Employment

The project addresses the high youth unemployment rate in North Macedonia (25%), caused by the mismatch between the skills provided by the education system and those required by the economy. The final phase will further strengthen the quality of the new dual school- and company-based vocational education and training system and the role of the private sector in its governance, ensuring sustainability and scale.


Programme de Coopération Transfrontalière Locale (PCTL)

Face aux défis sécuritaires et politiques croissants, la Suisse/DDC soutient l’accès aux services, aux infrastructures et ainsi, la résilience des communautés frontalières d’Afrique de l’Ouest. Par sa contribution au programme START de l’Union Européenne, elle pourra davantage renforcer les mécanismes de prévention et de gestion de conflits, donner plus d’envergure aux engagements des deux bailleurs et consolider également les acquis suisses dans la région.


Independent Media for Public Accountability in Zimbabwe (IMPAZ)

Media professionals in Zimbabwe face restrictions with regards to financial resources, operating environment and capacities to engage citizens to hold duty bearers effectively to account. Switzerland’s contribution to two local media organisations will support investigative reporting, sustainability strategies for media houses and the safety of journalists, thereby investing both in media houses’ institutional capacities as well as improved access to information and freedom of media in Zimbabwe.


Sustainable Swiss results in health

This concluding intervention to the health sector aims to ensure sustainability of results, by handing over the Swiss introduced models to the responsible institutions in the health system in Albania. It will provide targeted support to the financing mechanism of primary care to enable the integration of home care services into the basic package of services.


Contribution to the Climate Risks and Early Warning Systems Initiative (CREWS)

CREWS provides catalytic financing to Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States to build multi-hazard early warning systems, ultimately saving lives and protecting the livelihoods of the most vulnerable from climate-related disasters. As the primary delivery mechanism of the Early Warnings for All Initiative, with its Secretariat in Geneva, CREWS is a strategic Swiss priority. The combined expertise of SDC and MeteoSwiss maximises the impact of Swiss support.


EmPower II: Women for Climate Resili-ent Societies

The programme aims to strengthen gender-responsive climate governance, promote women’s leadership in climate and disaster risk reduction decision-making and expand their access to climate-resilient livelihoods and green economic opportunities. This will reduce people’s vulnerability to climate impacts in the Asia-Pacific region while advancing gender equality, human rights and equal access to a healthy, sustainable environment.


Agroécologie périurbaine - Pro-ARIDES Mali

Les systèmes alimentaires périurbains jouent un rôle clé dans l’approvisionnement des villes, mais restent fortement exposés à la dégradation des ressources naturelles, à l’insécurité foncière et à un accès limité aux marchés structurés. Dans ce contexte, la Suisse soutient la mise à l’échelle du maraîchage agroécologique comme levier de résilience, de sécurité alimentaire et d’opportunités économiques, en ciblant prioritairement les producteurs vulnérables et leur intégration aux marchés urbains, en particulier celui de Bamako.


Tchad-INSO, Soutien au programme d'INSO

INSO renforce la capacité des acteurs humanitaires à opérer de manière sûre et informée dans un contexte sécuritaire volatile au Tchad. À travers des services d’analyse sécuritaire, d’alerte et de coordination, INSO appuie les ONG dans la gestion des risques et le maintien de l’accès humanitaire. L’intervention cible principalement l’Est du Tchad et le bassin du Lac Tchad, fortement affectés par les crises régionales et les déplacements forcés.


JOR: Supporting the Jordan-led international humanitarian bridge to Lebanon

Building on Jordan’s established role as a regional humanitarian hub, including for the delivery of aid to Gaza, the Government of Jordan, through the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), has established a humanitarian bridge to Lebanon in response to the current humanitarian crisis. Through this intervention, Switzerland supports the delivery of essential relief assistance to conflict-affected populations while reinforcing coordinated regional humanitarian response mechanisms.


Soutien aux activités d'INSO au Mali 2026-2028

Dans un contexte sécuritaire dégradé au Mali, l’accès humanitaire et la continuité des interventions sont de plus en plus contraints. En soutenant INSO, la Suisse contribue à renforcer les capacités des ONG à analyser les risques, adapter leurs opérations et maintenir l’accès dans des environnements complexes. Cet appui s’inscrit dans le positionnement de la DDC en faveur d’un accès sûr, fondé sur les besoins et respectueux des principes humanitaires.
