Vocational Education and Training (VET) Project

The overall goal of this project is to enable rural youth to participate in quality Vocational Education and Training (VET) in order to become more employable and to help them overcome or avoid the poverty trap. The major strategic elements of the project include: a) A focus on young people in rural areas, both male and female; b) Alignment with Mongolian Government policy priorities and support for a high level of national ownership and active political will in relation to the issue; c) A focus on the western region of Mongolia, where there are no other donor activities or mining investments; d) Promotion of a focused intervention (VET) that has a strong and positive correlation with people’s employability and the country’s economic and social development; and e) Benefiting from an important Swiss comparative advantage.

Ernährungssicherheit für Kleinbäuerinnen und Kleinbauern dank Mikroversicherung und Mikrokredit

Der Klimawandel bedroht die Ernährungssicherheit landwirtschaftlicher Kleinbetriebe in Sambia und Malawi. Ein Projekt, das Mikroversicherung, Mikrofinanzwesen und Katastrophenvorsorge kombiniert, stärkt ihre Widerstandsfähigkeit. Die ersten Ergebnisse aus Äthiopien und dem Senegal sind vielversprechend.

Strengthening Coordination of National Climate Change Programme (PRONAGECC)

This project will support Peru in installing an inter-ministerial coordination mechanism that will ensure a concerted response of the government to the challenges of climate change in the country. Concrete pilot activities will be supported in three different sectors and three different regions of the country. The experience gained through the implementation of the Peruvian National Strategy for Climate Change will offer relevant learnings from which other countries will be able to benefit.

Preventing Overweight and Obesity

The project aims at preventing overweight and obesity in Polish society through wide-spread educational measures on nutrition and physical activity, as well as through  treatment activities among overweight people. Pregnant women and school children are particularly targeted in this national programme.

 

Verbesserte soziale und wirtschaftliche Wiedereingliederung von Straftätern

Die Schweiz finanziert in der Tschechischen Republik ein Projekt zur Modernisierung des Justizsystems und zur sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Wiedereingliederung von Straftätern. Dabei bezieht man sich auf Erfahrungen des Kantons Zürich.
