Financial Support to the Programme of Work and Budget of the OECD Development Assistance Committee for the years 2017 - 2018

OECD DAC helps member states and their partners maximise the impact of their development co-operation. DAC focuses on reporting, analysis and promotion of financing for development; the review of development co-operation programmes, policies and practices; and the provision of good development practice to enhance the quality and effectiveness of co-operation. SDC wants to continue supporting, including financially, these important activities and reflections for the Swiss international co-operation, especially in order to implement the SDGs.

Implementation of Operational Concept 2017-2020 on Cash Transfer Programming (CTP)

With this Credit Proposal, SDC/HA would like to sustain its engagement on cash transfer programming (CTP) as an operational actor and a donor. Due to its own extensive experience and added-value in the use of cash, SDC/HA is a credible actor in today’s global discussions and dialogue on CTP. It is important to harness that position and to continue to support the cash-based transfer modality both within the organization and in the humanitarian system. The Credit Proposal is for the implementation of SDC/HA’s Operational Concept on CTP 2017-2020.

Strengthening Human Rights institutions in Bangladesh

People in Bangladesh repeatedly suffer from human rights violations which especially affect poor and marginalised people with limited remedy and widespread impunity. The project strengthens (i) the National Human Rights Commission to more effectively promote and protect human rights and (ii) civil society to promote and monitor Human Rights and provide legal aid.

Mejorar la formación para favorecer la inserción profesional de los jóvenes en el medio rural

La COSUDE trabaja por reforzar el sistema educativo y la formación profesional en Níger. Actualmente más de 1,5 millones de jóvenes que viven en el medio rural no tienen acceso a ellos. Su futura inserción laboral depende de la buena articulación entre una educación básica de calidad y una formación profesional adaptada a las necesidades de la población.

Les Sarments de Lavaux - Food Aid Swiss Dairy Products (Lebanon)

Through the usage of food aid in the form of Swiss dairy products, Swiss Humanitarian Aid contributes to the prevention and treatment of malnutrition, undernourishment, and disease. The SDC’s Humanitarian Aid administers the credit granted by parliament for a yearly amount of some CHF 20 million destined for the purchase of Swiss dairy products and their use for the benefit of the needy. Its task is to ensure a sustainable, targeted, and closely monitored food aid.

In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises. The contribution to the Immediate Response Account (IRA), a multilateral funding mechanism, allows the World Food Programme (WFP) to respond proactively and to provide immediate food assistance in life-threatening situations and underfunded emergencies. The IRA reinforces WFP’s principles of timeliness, predictability and flexibility.

La stratégie de coopération internationale 2020 de Caritas s’intitule « End Poverty ». Pour y contribuer Caritas Suisse s’engage en faveur de la justice sociale et de la dignité humaine dans 40 pays avec 250 projets. Le programme de Caritas considère trois aspects dans son programme qui permettent la durabilité du développement humain: couvrir les besoins de base, promouvoir la résilience et créer des opportunités d’égalité en améliorant l’équité. Dans sa conception, Caritas considère la coopération au développement et l’aide humanitaire comme intégrées dans une seule démarche.

Partenariat Mondial pour l’Education – Global Partnership for Education (PME – GPE)

Le Partenariat Mondial pour l’Education (PME) est reconnu par la communauté internationale comme la principale plateforme de coordination et de financement de l’éducation au niveau mondial. Il vise le  renforcement des systèmes éducatifs des pays en développement ou affectés par un conflit sur les aspects d’accès, d’équité et de qualité de l’apprentissage. Le PME répond aux principaux défis actuels en matière d’éducation de base et de formation professionnelle des enfants et des jeunes et s’inscrit dans les priorités stratégiques de la DDC dans le secteur.

Fondation Terre des Hommes (TdHL) (Kredit Ost)

Le programme de la Fondation TdhL vise à réduire de manière durable la mortalité et la morbidité enfantine, à permettre l’accès à la santé, à l’eau et à l’assainissement pour les mères et enfants les plus pauvres à protéger les enfants victimes de conflits et de catastrophes, à développer des systèmes de protection de l’enfant et à promouvoir les bonnes pratiques en matière de justice pour mineurs. Il contribue à la promotion du développement durable et à la réduction de la pauvreté dans le domaine de l’enfance, dans des contextes fragiles.

Iamaneh (Kredit Ost)

Iamaneh-Schweiz (Abkürzung für „International Association for Maternal and Neonatal Health“) engagiert sich im Bereich der reproduktiven und sexuellen Gesundheit und Rechte (SRHR) sowie der genderbasierten Gewalt in Westafrika und im Westbalkan. Sie arbeitet eng mit 20 lokalen Partnerorganisationen in 6 Ländern (Mali, Senegal, Togo, Burkina Faso, Bosnien-Herzegowina und Albanien) zusammen für eine sichere Geburt und Mutterschaft, für einen verbesserten Zugang zu Familienplanung sowie für die Rechte von Frauen und ein Leben frei von Gewalt. Die Zielgruppen sind Frauen, Kinder und Jugendliche. In der Schweiz sensibilisiert und informiert sie die interessierte Öffentlichkeit über Zusammenhänge von Gesundheit, Gewalt, Armut und Benachteiligung.
