Southeast Asia experiences very harmful periods of air pollution every year causing health, environment and economic damage. Switzerland, Germany and France are joining forces to tackle sources of air pollution and global warming together in Southeast Asia. The project will identify and scale innovative solutions for reducing air and climate pollutants and provide Swiss know-how and experiences on clean air to support joint action, with a special focus on the Lower Mekong region.

Sustainable and Innovative Rural water, Sanitation and Hygiene – Closing phase (SIRWASH)

The project strengthens policy, institutions, capacities and foster innovation in the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector in rural areas. For this closing phase, it will support the scaling up of key interventions, institutionalizes and capitalizes the knowledge acquired between the targeted countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and shares it with other regions and actors in the WASH sector. The program will also strengths and consolidates youth-led WASH enterprises.
Strengthening of the Venezuelan Red Cross Society

This proposal seeks to support IFRC in strengthening the institutional capacities of the Venezuelan Red Cross and its 41 branches after the restructuring process, continuing with an emphasis on organisational, programmatic and financial aspects. This will be achieved through electoral processes in each branch, a new Red Cross law, strategic planning and policy development, training, fundraising strategies for sustainability, and protection and climate change programmes over a three-year period in a national level.
Solar Energy for Agriculture Resilience (SoLAR)

Solar agri-technologies have the potential to make smallholder based agri-food systems in South Asia and East Africa more socially just and responsive to climate change. To enable scaling of these technologies, SoLAR phase 2 will deliver tools and models to support policy making, leverage Swiss know-how to propose innovative financing mechanisms, and strengthen science, policy and practice collaboration for water-energy-food nexus gains.
GICHD localisation project to strengthen the capacity of the Ukrainian national humanitarian demining sector

In line with the objective to help Ukraine develop national capacity in mine action and localize it in the mid-term, this project led by the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) assesses the capacity of Ukrainian demining organisations to implement humanitarian demining activities in a safe and efficient manner. In a second step, the project provides targeted training and capacity enhancement support to selected operators.
DIKO - Réponse communautaire de protection et de renforcement de la résilience des populations affectées par les déplacements à Tillabéri

Les conflits armés dans la région de Tillabéri au Niger ne cessent d’accroitre le nombre de personnes déplacées internes et d’exposer les populations, notamment les femmes et les filles, à toutes formes de violence. A travers ce projet mené par une ONG nigérienne, la Suisse soutient la résilience des populations affectées via le renforcement de leurs moyens d’existence et des mécanismes communautaires de prévention et de réponse aux risques de protection.
Towards Elimination of Malaria in Tanzania (TEMT)

Despite significant progress, Tanzania is still a major malaria-burdened country. It aspires to further accelerate progress towards malaria elimination through innovative strategies and investments in research, vaccine development, and multi-country collaborations. Switzerland supports capacity building, evidence creation, systems to strengthen vector control, case management, surveillance, monitoring and evaluation, multi-sectoral collaboration and cross-border initiatives upon request by the Government.
Sustaining Health Sector Reform in Ukraine Phase 2

Through the proposed project, Switzerland contributes to 2 local NGOs in the north west of South Sudan, in line with ongoing localization of aid efforts. The proposed intervention combines both protection and livelihoods interventions to address the urgent needs of refugees and returnees fleeing from the Sudan conflict and vulnerable host communities in Raja, a fairly remote and high need location with little humanitarian presence.

Recognising the gap in financing sustainable and resilient food systems globally, this multi-donor, public pri-vate partnership initiative is designed to catalyse private-sector investment in food systems, including from Swiss investors. By leveraging private investments and providing technical assistance to small and medium agribusiness enterprises, rural financial intermediaries and farmer organisations, the project promotes new income opportunities and better services for smallholder farmers and their application of more sustainable and nutrition-sensitive farm practices.
Resilient, Inclusive Markets in Moldova – Phase 2

Moldova’s growth continues being volatile and jobless. More and better jobs are needed for the rural population, disproportionately affected by the effects of extreme climate events and by the war in Ukraine. The project’s second phase will enhance an inclusive, competitive and resilient economic development, by improving regulatory frameworks and business support services which benefit economic activities in rural areas.
