Suministro de agua en Sudán del Sur(Re)Construcción en periodos de transición

El objetivo del proyecto es mejorar de forma duradera el suministro de agua para las 720.000 personas y el ganado que viven en el estado de Bar el Gazal del Norte situado en Sudán del Sur. Esta zona fronteriza con Sudán del Norte es una de las regiones más pobres del mundo, y desde la firma del acuerdo de paz entre Sudán del Norte y Sudán del Sur en 2005 es una de las principales áreas de retorno para los desplazados de Sudán del Sur.

A pesar de un crecimiento económico sustentado, Colombia continúa a vivir una violencia armada con consecuencias humanitarias para la población civil. La entrada en una posible fase de post-conflicto en el marco del actual proceso de paz entre el Gobierno y las guerrillas es probable. En los departamentos focalizados de Valle del Cauca (Buenaventura), Nariño (Ricaurte y Tumaco) y Cauca (El Tambo y Buenos Aires), se evidencia la afectación directa e indirecta de la población civil por el conflicto armado, con desequilibrios socioeconómicos-ambientales, dificultades de acceso a servicios básicos y vacíos institucionales persistentes, generando estructuras de inequidad.

Civil Society Support Facility – Constituency Building

The overall objective of the Civil Society Support Facility – Constituency Building project is to contribute to enhanced engagement of CSOs with their constituents and to joint agenda setting to promote positive social change in Macedonia. Through enhanced levels of organisation and legitimacy CSOs will be enabled to promote good governance at national level and improve accountability of the state towards citizens – elements which are crucial to building a more transparent and democratic society.

Community Forums - Exit Phase

The Community Forum instrument has been introduced as a mechanism for citizen participation in decision making at local level, thus fulfilling an institutional gap in the context of good governance in the country. The concept was developed through several phases and was applied in two third of the Macedonian municipalities. To foster sustainability the exit phase focuses on independently organised Forums and on the knowhow transfer to the municipalities association.

The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is the largest corporate responsibility platform worldwide, working towards the vision of a sustainable and inclusive global economy that delivers lasting benefits to people, communities and markets. Switzerland has been a major supporter of the UNGC from its inception and with this sixth phase core contribution is supporting the implementation of the UNGC’s 2014–2016 strategy, aiming at (1) mainstreaming the Global Compact’s ten principles in business strategies around the world; and (2) catalysing business action in support of UN goals and issues.

Improving effectiveness of police cooperation in the field of countering Trafficking of Human Beings (THB) between Switzerland and Romania

The project seeks to strengthen the effectiveness of the police cooperation between Romania and Switzerland to improve identification and investigation of trafficking of human beings. Further, the equipment of the Romanian Police will be enhanced to improve investigations of cases in trafficking of human beings.

PROMyPE – JIWASA

El proyecto PROMyPE – JIWASA contribuye a que el crecimiento económico sostenible e inclusivo que incida directamente en la reducción de la pobreza, a través del mejoramiento de las condiciones productivas y de los ingresos en zonas urbanas y periurbanas de Bolivia. Trabaja con un enfoque de red, donde la participación de Comités Regionales es determinante para articular el nivel nacional MDPyEP, Viceministerio de Economía y Pequeña Empresa - VMyPE y PROBOLIVIA) con el nivel sub nacional (gobernaciones y municipios) a través de cinco Comités Regionales con participación plural, incluidas organizaciones no gubernamentales, universidades y federaciones departamentales de micro y pequeña empresa.

Un proyecto de la COSUDE pone el acento en una cooperación regional abierta y un riguroso monitoreo científico de la evolución de los glaciares.

JOR. Integrated Disaster Risk Management and DRR/CCA/Water Awareness

The vulnerability of the Jordanian society and its economy to natural hazards , water scarcity and climate change induced disasters are owed to the limited proactive approaches to disaster prevention and mitigation, insufficient institutional capacities at the national and local levels, lack of trained human resources, lack of awareness amongst senior officials and communities and unsatisfactory implementation of existing policies. This project; which will be directly implemented by SDC office Amman; has been developed in order to bridge the gap; at governorates (large cities) and municipality levels; in capacities and plans dealing with DRR disaster preparedness and prevention.

Resources for Local Democracy

At the request of the Serbian Government, SDC will support three reforms on Serbia’s path towards European integration: 1) the enforcement of a municipal finance law that awards good performance of local governments and ensures the necessary resources for democratic decisions; 2) the development of regional development policies for reducing regional disparities, including mechanisms for disaster risk prevention; and 3) high quality municipal audits aiming to achieve a rational use of public resources.
