RDC, HEKS-EPER, Aide d’urgence intégrée.

La résurgence des conflits armés en province du Nord Kivu continue d’entrainer des déplacements récurrents des populations, des violences sur les civils, des pertes de moyens d’existence ainsi que des besoins humanitaires importants. Dans une logique de continuité des phases précédentes, ce projet propose une réponse intégrée - sécurité alimentaire, moyens de subsistance, accès, eau/hygiène - pour répondre aux besoins humanitaires urgents et renforcer les mécanismes de résilience de plus que 480’000 personnes.


Fonds humanitaire régional pour l’Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre (FHRAOC)

Le Sahel central est confronté à une crise humanitaire prolongée, complexe et multiforme, marquée par des déplacements de population, l’insécurité alimentaire, des épidémies et les effets du changement climatique (inondations, sécheresse). Par cette contribution, la Suisse soutient le Fonds humanitaire régional pour l’Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre, ce qui permettra de répondre aux crises humanitaires dans la sous-région et de mener un plaidoyer efficace dans la localisation et la protection.


Nigeria, UNICEF, Improved access to quality reintegration services for children and women formerly associated with non-state armed groups in Northeast Nigeria.

Thousands of children and women have exited areas controlled by non-state armed groups in Northeast Nigeria since 2021. The project provides temporary shelter and basic services and  longer-term socio-economic reintegration to this group of civilians and other vulnerable individuals through a package of  multisectoral  assistance.  The  successful  and  sustainable  reintegration  of  these  individuals  is instrumental towards peacebuilding and complements ongoing Swiss work on peace and security.


Programme d’appui à la commercialisation du bétail en Afrique de l’Ouest Phase 2 (PACBAO-2)

La Suisse poursuit son appui à la Communauté Economique des Etats de l’Afrique de l’Ouest-CEDEAO et aux acteurs privés de la filière bétail-viande entamé en 2018, pour faciliter les échanges commerciaux dans trois corridors reliant pays sahéliens (Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Tchad) et pays côtiers (Nigeria, Bénin, Togo, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire). L’objectif final est une augmentation de la sécurité alimentaire, des emplois et revenus des éleveurs et commerçants, au bénéfice d’un million de personnes.

Innovative collaboration with the private sector is needed to achieve SDG 6. The Water Access Acceleration Fund (W2AF) is the first “impact first” private equity fund aiming at enhancing access to safe and affordable drinking water by investing in innovative water companies in developing countries primarily  in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. By providing an exchange rate currency risk absorption mechanism, Switzerland supports investments in least developed countries (LDCs) where the investment gap is the biggest and fosters its role as a provider of innovative finance in support of the SDGs. 


Clean Air Project in the Indo-Gangetic Plain (CAP IGP) - Phase 2

The Indo-Gangetic Plain is the most affected region by air pollution globally with severe health, economic and climatic impacts. With Swiss expertise, this project addresses transboundary air pollution with a financial contribution to the World Bank’s regional Air Quality Management program to provide cleaner air to 680 million people, by developing states and regional plans and supporting coordinated sectoral measures by decision-makers in Bangladesh, India and Nepal.


Innovative Vector Control Consortium (IVCC)

Neglected tropical diseases and malaria cause severe health and economic challenges in the poorest regions. SDC supports innovative solutions by fostering public-private partnerships to develop and ensure access to safe and effective insecticides. These efforts align with Swiss values of collaboration and innovation, contributing to sustainable health and poverty reduction progress.


Contribution to Humanitarian Fund oPt 2024 - 2026 (OCHA)

Switzerland, in line with its commitments to improve the effectiveness of humanitarian aid, will contribute to the Humanitarian Fund (HF) as a flexible, needs-based and principled mechanism driven by the Humanitarian Response Plan. It is a pooled mechanism that receives regular support from various donors and is led by the UN Humanitarian Coordinator. It allows fast and coordinated humanitarian response in multiple sectors, based on identified needs and priorities by the cluster system, with focus on lifesaving and emergency activities.


Phase 1, ADB Frontier, single phase

In Cambodia and Laos, young fast-growing SMEs are incremental to transform local economies. However, perceived as risky and operating in small frontier markets, the finance sector doesn’t invest in them the capital to further grow. This contribution aims to close this gap and demonstrate the viability of investments through adapted financial products and technical assistance, while creating employment, developing the market, and driving gender- and climate inclusive growth.


One Health for Humans, Environment, Animals, and Livelihoods (HEAL)

Access to basic health and veterinary services is challenging in (agro-)pastoralist societies in the Horn of Africa due to unfavourable environmental and climatic conditions and limited delivery of basic services. Using a One Health approach, Switzerland promotes an innovative integrated human/livestock/environmental health service model, contributing to improved health, reduced vulnerability and increased livelihood resilience.


UNICEF Yemen, Thematic Contribution to Child Protection Programme

Through this thematic multi-year contribution, SDC provides flexible funding to UNICEF’s Child Protection Pro-gramme in Yemen. This partnership integrates humanitarian and development efforts to strengthen child protec-tion systems, improve the quality of prevention and response services and promote positive behaviour change within communities. Ultimately, this initiative aims to create a safer and more protective environment for children and adolescents in Yemen.


Philippines, IFRC Typhoons and Floods Emergency 2024

This contribution aims to support the IFRC and its members in meeting the urgent needs of people affected by six consecutive tropical typhoons in the Philippines from 21 October to 18 November 2024. Through the provision of integrated assistance including shelter, livelihoods, health, water, sanitation, hygiene, and education, the well-being of the affected communities will be improved, the impacts of the emergency mitigated, and prevention of future disasters strengthened.
