Second Allocation of SDC Funding to ICRC Operations in 2014

In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises. SDC funding to ICRC operations allows the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance for people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.

BMI-ECH-IA sind in der Personellen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit tätig. Diese basiert auf langfristigen Partnerschaften mit lokalen Institutionen und dem mehrjährigen Austausch von Einsatzleistenden im Freiwilligenstatus. Ziele sind in erster Linie Empowerment und Capacity Development (individuelle Kompetenzerweiterung, Organisationsentwicklung, Vernetzung, Systementwicklung) der Partner und Zielgruppen. Damit wird ein Beitrag zur Erreichung der Milleniumsziele geleistet (Bekämpfung von Armut und ökologische Nachhaltigkeit).

One off Allocation (Cash) of SDC Funding to UNICEF emergency Operations in 2014

In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of addressing underfunded crisis in a more predictable manner. SDC funding to UNICEF emergency programmes in 8 underfunded emergency situations allows UNICEF to better plan its assistance programmes and proactively respond to situations as needed. Moreover contributions will not be thematically earmarked except in Chad (WASH) and in Syria (SHARP).
