Opportunités durables d’autonomie des jeunes sahraouis

La Suisse soutient l’UNHCR pour renforcer l’autonomie et la résilience des réfugiés sahraouis vivant depuis plus de 50 ans à Tindouf, dans un environnement désertique extrême ainsi que les demandeurs d’asile en Algérie. Le projet renforce leur autonomie économique en améliorant leurs compétences, leur employabilité et leurs possibilités de générer des revenus. Cet engagement à Tindouf contribue aux objectifs migratoires prioritaires de la Suisse.

Around 800’000 young people enter the Egyptian labour market every year. Since 2021, Switzerland has contributed to Egypt’s technical education reform strategy because a well-functioning Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system is needed to equip young people with skills that match labour market demand, support their transition into employment and help them earn a decent income. The exit phase of this project will further strengthen and digitalize key processes to support a more systematic and effective implementation of dual TVET to assure a sustainable exit.
Green Agenda in Serbia: Get Started, Take Action and Scale Up, phase 2

With this project SDC contributes to efficient, inclusive and sustainable implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans in Serbia, envisaged by the EU Green Deal. In this project phase, the Swiss contribution to UNDP, in parallel to funding from the EU, will focus on biodiversity, depollution and ecosystem resilience. Additionally, the government’s capacities will be increased to gradually take the lead in the process of supporting public and private actions, scaling, and consequently reaching climate targets.

Through its partnership with the International Research and Consulting Centre (IRCC) of the Institute of Federalism (IFF) at the University of Fribourg, SDC promotes locally owned governance reforms in developing countries. The Program provides comparative research, advisory services and capacity development on good governance, including federalism and decentralisation, to strengthen inclusive institutions, democratic resilience, prosperity, conflict prevention and sustainable development.
Biodiversity and Ecosystem Resilience Programme

Switzerland will support North Macedonia in strengthening enabling conditions for biodiversity conservation and ecosystem resilience through a single-phase intervention, with a focus on improving the management and financial sustainability of protected areas, preparing an application for Green Climate Fund, and raising stakeholders’ awareness of relevant climate and environmental issues. It will engage responsible key institutions at all levels, and it will contribute to country’s EU integration process.

Au Mali, la Suisse accompagne la consolidation des filières lait local et pomme de terre dans les régions de Sikasso, Bougouni et Koutiala. Face aux contraintes persistantes de productivité, de commercialisation et d’accès aux services, le projet renforce les capacités des acteurs et favorise l’investissement privé et la pérennisation des acquis. Capitalisant sur dix ans d’engagement, il vise à accroître durablement les revenus et l’emploi, notamment des femmes et des jeunes, et contribue à la stabilité économique et sociale du sud du Mali, également dans l’intérêt à long terme de la Suisse.

In response to the shelter needs in the Gaza Strip and in view of the approaching winter, Switzerland contributes to the purchase and distribution of shelter material and other essential non-food items, such as blankets, winter clothing, kitchen or hygiene kits. The program is run by the International Organization for Migration IOM under the UN-led humanitarian system and in close coordination with the relevant governmental and non-governmental stakeholders.

Switzerland’s multiyear contribution to FAO will support smallholder farmers, especially crisis and conflict affected women and youth to transition from subsistence food production to resilient market-oriented and sustainable food systems with climate adaptation. The intervention will strengthen livelihoods and climate resilience, increase productivity and income, improve natural resource management and longterm food security and economic recovery in flood and draught affected parts of South Sudan.
