The bilateral armaments meeting between Switzerland and Poland took place on 16 April 2025. National Armaments Director Urs Loher received the Polish delegation headed by the Deputy National Armaments Director of Poland, Colonel Krzysztof Komorowski, in Thun for discussions. The goal of the meeting was to exchange ideas on current armaments policy topics. The expert discussions covered, among other topics, the current developments in national security and defence policy, procurement issues as well as international armaments cooperation. In addition, the meeting included an industrial visit to the company Nitrochemie Wimmis AG. The Nitrochemie Group with locations in Wimmis (Switzerland) and Aschau (Germany) is a globally operating technology company with the business segments drive systems and chemical intermediates. In addition to a presentation of the company and the product portfolio, the Polish delegation was able to gain an insight into nitrocellulose production at the Wimmis site.
